In a proactive move to ensure the completion and success of self-help projects initiated in 2022, Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hon. Oluwafemi Abimbola Awe, has embarked on an extensive inspection across Ekiti State.
The projects, which received financial disbursements in three tranches, are part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to continuity and uninterrupted development.
Former Governor Kayode Fayemi’s vision behind these projects was to eliminate abandoned ventures and accelerate overall development in the state.
Commissioner Awe, during the ongoing exercise, expressed satisfaction with the progress made while addressing the requests flooding in from communities. The commissioner’s revisit aims to assess the prudent utilization of the first tranche and identify areas where government intervention is required.
Various requests from communities include finalizing roofing, wall plastering, electrical fittings, landscaping, flooring, and window installations.
Commissioner Oluwafemi Awe urged communities to ensure the judicious use of the upcoming second tranche, emphasizing that the responsible utilization of funds would guide the government in determining subsequent projects.
The ministry aligns closely with the governor’s agenda, focusing on the development of farmsteads and communities for widespread progress across the state.
