In a commendation laden with praise, the Chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area in Ekiti State, Hon. Michael Ogungbemi, hails President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his impartial and resolute approach to combatting corruption.
Ogungbemi also extolled Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s selfless and disciplined leadership style.
The recently sworn-in Chairman, who concurrently serves as the Ekiti State Publicity Secretary of the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), commends President Tinubu for his determined and non-partisan efforts in addressing alleged graft-related cases within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. This includes the suspension of the Minister, Betta Edu, and the removal of the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Hajia Halima Shehu, due to alleged financial impropriety.
Ogungbemi emphasizes President Tinubu’s noteworthy act of rising above partisan sentiments to address corruption issues aligns with the aspirations and desires of Nigerians. He believes that these recent actions have further solidified the trust of Nigerians in the President.
Praising the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Mr. Olanipekun Olukoyede, for professionalism, Ogungbemi urges the agency to continue its robust efforts in combating corruption within the public service.
The local council boss asserts that cleansing the system of pervasive and endemic corruption is crucial for Nigeria’s development and its integration into the community of advanced nations. Ogungbemi calls on anti-graft agencies to extend their investigations across all layers of government, ensuring that funds meant for Nigerians are not diverted into private coffers.
Commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his selflessness, simplicity, and sacrificial service to Ekiti, Ogungbemi highlights the governor’s prudence and financial discipline. He notes that the governor’s austere government approach aligns with President Tinubu’s anti-graft initiatives, leading to visible gains in infrastructure and social intervention programs within Ekiti State.
