The Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti,has commenced the new year with an inspiring prayer session on Wednesday , setting a spiritual tone for 2024.
Resounding hymns and heartfelt prayers echoed within the Polytechnic Conference Hall as staff members united in gratitude for the gift of health and the privilege to embark on the journey of another year.
The Polytechnic Librarian, Dr Johnson Ayodeji Akerele, delivered a compelling sermon during the annual prayer, urging staff to take proactive steps for personal and professional growth while emphasizing the importance of seeking divine guidance.
Addressing the assembly, Rector Prof Johnson Adesodun emphasized the significance of the event, highlighting its purpose to commit the new year to divine hands.
Emphasizing unity in a release by the institution’s public relations officer Mr.Martins Olowoyo, Prof Adesodun urged staff to exhibit discipline, assuring them that new technology would be deployed for monitoring without any intention of witch-hunting.
In a commitment to staff welfare, Prof Adesodun pledged improvements and encouraged efforts to boost student enrollment.
Excitingly, he announced the upcoming inaugural convocation, marking the full accreditation of all programs. Furthermore, plans for expansion emerged, with proposals for four new programs: Business Administration, Quantity Survey, Science Lab Tech, and Library and Information Science.
