Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji,has pledged bridging political divides and prioritize unity for the state’s growth.
Governor Oyebanji, addressing citizens at the New Year Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, emphasized the need to transcend politics of bitterness, urging cooperation for development.
He reassured the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) members about the focus on the state’s development rather than political contestation for the 2026 Governorship position.
The Governor stressed his commitment to reaching out to influential Ekiti figures, including Aare Afe Babalola, Chief Wole Olanipekun, Mr. Femi Falana, and the Ekiti National Assembly caucus, for their valuable insights and support.
Governor Oyebanji urged Ekiti residents to pray for President Bola Tinubu, expressing optimism that the economic policies in 2024 would lead to positive changes in Nigeria.
Acknowledging present challenges, he urged trust in President Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of retaining hope for Nigeria’s economic restoration.
The Governor appreciated Ekiti’s labour leaders for their cooperation and assured a better year for workers in 2024. He promised a comprehensive assessment of his cabinet members in the next six months, warning of potential changes based on performance.
In his commitment to a united Ekiti, Oyebanji concluded, “There must be an end to politics when governance starts.”
The Interfaith Thanksgiving Service included prayers, sermons, and song ministrations, promoting unity between Islamic and Christian communities. The event was attended by key government officials, religious leaders, and community representatives.
