Gov.Oyebanji Inks N159.5 Billion Ekiti Fiscal Estimates, Pledges Full Budget Implementation

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, officially signed the 2024 appropriation Bill into law on Wednesday. The budget, titled “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Development,” was presented to the Governor by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, and other principal officers at the Exco Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti.

The total estimate for the 2024 Budget stands at N159,572,481,915.51, with 56% allocated for Recurrent Expenditure and 44% for Capital Expenditure. Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence in the budget’s potential to drive sustainable growth, create job opportunities, and enhance the overall socio-economic landscape of the state.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Oyebanji reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the full implementation of the budget, emphasizing its role in delivering on campaign promises and improving the standard eof living for the people of Ekiti State.

 

Acknowledging the rthorough review and scrutiny by the House of Assembly, the Governor commended the quality of debate and oversight provided by the members.

Earlier,the Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye had affirmed the alignment of the budget with the priorities of the people. He praised the well-structured presentation that addresses the yearnings and aspirations of Ekiti residents, emphasizing the House’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Executive arm for the overall interest and development of the state.

 

The budget signing event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, members of the state House of Assembly, and the state executive council.
