Governor Oyebanji’s Heartfelt Gesture: N4 Million Donation for Special Schools

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, marked his 56th birthday with a significant act of generosity, personally donating N4 million and essential food items to three special schools in the state, along with a rehabilitation center.

The governor’s wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, presented the donations, including 40 bags of rice, 40 bags of beans, 40 cartons of vegetable oil, 40 cartons of noodles, and 40 cartons of spaghetti, during a brief event at the Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House, Ado Ekiti.

The benefiting institutions, which include the School for the Blind in Ikere Ekiti, the School for the Deaf in Ikoro Ekiti, the School for the Physically Challenged in Ido Ekiti, and the State Rehabilitation Home in Ado Ekiti, each received N1 million from the governor. The State Executive Council members also contributed N500,000 to the special schools, demonstrating a collective effort to support the governor’s philanthropic initiative.

Speaking on behalf of her husband, Dr. Oyebanji emphasized the governor’s commitment to bringing joy to the faces of students in special schools and enhancing their lives. She highlighted Governor Oyebanji’s preference for modest birthday celebrations, especially focusing on contributing to the welfare of the less privileged.

The First Lady underscored the need for accountability in managing the donations, urging the authorities of the special schools to ensure proper use of the resources received.
