EKITI CHRISTMAS JOY:GOV. OYEBANJI’S “OJUSE BAO” BRINGS FESTIVE CHEERS TO OVER 1,600 RESIDENTS

The Ekiti State Governor Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji through the “Ojuse BAO” initiative has successfully provided succor and relief for the yultide for 1,320 elderly who got free food package and over 300 petty traders with each getting between five and ten thousand to boost their petty trading across 16 communities in the state.

The first phase of this lofty initiative brought smiles to the faces of petty traders who had to take wares on credit just to meet up with their daily needs, they were all filled with overwhelming joy as they praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the gesture.

While the petty traders relish in the relief the gesture has brought their way, the elderly were equally over joyed with the unexpected food package termed “Christmas package” from the governor, the 1320 elderly across these 16 communities and towns could not hide their joy as they burst into prayers while some of them just shed happy tears not because they were hungry but because the governor as highly exalted as he is could remember someone like them to the point of sending them christmas packages.

The four days tour of these 16 communities was a testimonial of the acceptance of the governor at the grassroots and a further impression in their heart of a more convincing trust in his leadership style.

Commenting, the senior special Assistant to the governor on government governor’s office Mrs. Sola Abe explained that the move was to make sure that the monthly program touches other residents especially petty traders and the elderly at the grassroots without political, ethnic or religious bias and that was strictly adhered to.

She maintained that the move was also for the governor to assist the elderly in his own little way to boost their welfare in the yultide season knowing well that the global economic challenges are evident and as such the vulnerable needs succor.

 

Mrs. Sola Abe also used the moment to appeal to other well to do individuals or corporate organizations to tow same path and make the yultide season a worthy one for those who maybe having challenges feeding themselves and families.

Some of the communities visited include Ido-Ile, Omuo, Iyin, Igede, Ilumoba, Ilupeju, Oye, Ikole, Agbado, Aisegba, Igbara-Odo Ekiti to mention a few and at each community no fewer than 50 bags of food were distributed to the elderly although with a few exceptions where over a hundred was distributed.

The senior special Assistant to the governor on governor’s office Mrs.Sola Abe however assured that the monthly empowerment continues while the second phase of the tour would come up at right time.

She explained that the initiative was also to fulfill governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s commitment to making sure that no one is left behind and that the prosperity for all agenda is fulfilled to the letter.

In all the Ojuse BAO with the chorus “Ajose Wa Ni” initiative has come to stay and with a robust vigor in the next phase with a call on residents to also play their part well in performing their statutory obligations.

As the festive season nears, “Ojuse BAO” has resonated deeply, showcasing Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to uplifting and empowering both struggling entrepreneurs and vulnerable seniors. With a call for community involvement, Ekiti’s “Ajose Wa Ni” spirit shines brightly, promising a more joyful and hopeful Christmas for all.
