Governor Oyebanji Shuns Birthday Extravagance, Advocates Donations to Special Schools for PWD

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has made an unconventional birthday request, urging friends, associates, and well-wishers not to organize any birthday celebrations, gifts, or newspaper advertisements for his upcoming 56th birthday on Thursday, December 21st.

In lieu of traditional festivities, Governor Oyebanji appeals for donations, either in cash or materials, to be directed towards supporting less privileged children in the state. Specifically, he encourages contributions to three Government Special Schools strategically located in the state’s senatorial districts: Government Special School for the Deaf in Ikoro-Ekiti, Government Special School for the Blind in Ikere-Ekiti, and Government Special School for the Mentally and Physically Challenged in Ido-Ekiti. Additionally, contributions are welcomed at the State Relief and Rehabilitation Centre for the Mentally Challenged in Ado-Ekiti.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the Governor expresses his joy at the positive impact of gifts received by the special schools during his last birthday. He recounts how these gestures enhanced the students’ welfare and upgraded facilities within the schools.
