She orchestrated a transformative side event that not only showcased the groundbreaking “EcoNigeria Pledge: Personal Climate Commitments” but also handed the reins to the youth for an inspiring occasion.
Sponsored by Uganda Airlines, the event, led by Areola, aimed at engaging and empowering over 20 million Nigerians in the fight against climate change. Youth leaders, under her guidance, assumed pivotal roles, steering discussions and initiatives to foster environmental responsibility, highlighting the critical role young voices play in shaping the future of the planet.
Distinguished dignitaries, including Hon Sunday Dare, Senator Tokunboh Afikuyomi, and Executive Governor Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu (represented), attended the event. They expressed support for the EcoNigeria Pledge and its potential to drive positive change nationally, echoing Areola’s vision for a sustainable future. The interactive session, masterfully led by Areola, stressed the importance of individual contributions in the battle against the climate crisis.
The high point of the event was the official launch of the EcoNigeria Pledge, a brainchild of Areola, encouraging participants to make personal commitments to sustainable practices.
