In a landmark achievement, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State has successfully reconnected the state’s broadcasting station to the national grid after a staggering 24 years of disconnection.

The Ekiti State Broadcasting Service (BSES) faced economic challenges amid the country’s economic downturn, leading to shortened broadcast periods. However, Governor Oyebanji’s administration, during this challenging period, went above and beyond to ensure the continuity of the broadcast. With the recent reconnection to the national grid, there is optimism that both the broadcast periods and quality will see significant improvements.

Furthermore, the governor’s commissioning of the Independent Power Project (IPP), featuring a 5MW electricity generation station, underscores his commitment to transforming the state. This move signifies a substantial step towards enhancing the capabilities of the broadcasting station, showcasing Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to business and media development in Ekiti.
