Election Countdown: EKSIEC Swiftly Distributes Materials Ahead of Ekiti Local Polls

With only 48 hours left until Saturday’s Local Government and Local Council Development Areas Election in Ekiti State, the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) has successfully distributed election materials in preparation for the crucial event.

The distribution according to JIROLTV source,Mr.Akin Ogunmola, unfolded at the premises of EKSIEC in Ado Ekiti and drew the attention of political party leaders, election observers, and security agents.

Justice Cornelius Akintayo, the Chairman of EKSIEC, addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the materials, including both sensitive and non-sensitive items, were dispatched early to guarantee their timely arrival across every corner of the state. He highlighted the customization of materials for each of the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the 22 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ekiti.

One of the political party leaders present during the distribution, Chief Eponlolaye Olufemi, who also serves as the IPAC PRO and Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), commended the exercise. He urged EKSIEC to uphold its commitment to a fair and level playing field for all participating parties on election day, expressing confidence that his party would present a surprise outcome.

Following the distribution, Chairman Akintayo guided stakeholders around the election materials, ensuring transparency and addressing concerns of tampering. Additionally, a contingent of the Mobile Police Squad arrived at the commission’s premises, reinforcing security measures to maintain law and order during Saturday’s election.

As part of the logistical preparations, both sensitive and non-sensitive materials have commenced their journey to various Council and LCDA headquarters, escorted by armed police, signifying the comprehensive efforts to secure a smooth electoral process in Ekiti State.
