Honoring Ekiti’s Finest: Heros Award Shines Light on Outstanding Youth Achievers 

The Ekiti State Youth Congress, led by Comrade Adedara Temitope Moses, celebrated their 2023 Heroes Award with a resounding call for the youth to be the driving force of Nigeria’s future.

Hon. Abiodun Omoleye, a revered member of the House of Representatives representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II, stressed the vital importance of Ekiti’s youth channeling their energy into positive endeavors rather than succumbing to harmful activities like substance abuse and cybercrime.

Under the theme ‘Historical Values and Competencies of Ekiti: Linking the Past, Present, and Future,’ the colloquium featured distinguished keynote speakers, including Engr. Kayode OJO, CEO of Salta Construction Limited; Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle, the ADP Gubernatorial Candidate in 2022; Are Olumuyiwa Olumilua, former Commissioner for Investment, Trade, and Industry, represented at the event, and a Member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II Hon. Abiodun Omoleye.

Hon. Omoleye, speaking in Ekiti, passionately urged the youth to draw inspiration from the state’s history and the rich legacy of their forefathers, emphasizing the importance of Ekiti maintaining a strong and influential voice in the nation’s affairs. He implored them to safeguard their vision for a brighter and prosperous future.

 

The Heroes Award ceremony not only served as a tribute to the outstanding individuals making significant contributions to the state but also as a wellspring of inspiration for the youth to follow in the illustrious footsteps of their predecessors.

Comrade Adedara Temitope Moses, Chairman of the Ekiti State Youth Congress, emphasized the values of integrity and competency for which the state is renowned. He called upon Ekiti’s youth to embody the discipline and dedication of past leaders, much like the exemplary life of Baba Fashuan.

Among the esteemed awardees were Chief Deji Fasuan, Barrister Tosin Ayo, Icon Quadri Olawale, Comrade Modupe Mary Adetiba, Mr. Hakeem Damilare, and Hon. Oloruntoba Samuel.
