Ekiti’s Rural Rebirth Begins: Hon. Olufemi Awe Embarks on Community Visits

Under the dynamic leadership of Hon. Oluwafemi Awe, the Ministry of Rural and Community Development in Ekiti State is embarking on a series of rural community development assessments that resonate with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s unwavering commitment. These assessments aim to spotlight areas in need of improvement, bringing about positive transformations to uplift the welfare of rural communities in the state.

He recently conducted a familiarization visit to the palace of the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaye, and the Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo. These visits entailed on-site assessments of areas demanding attention, with a special focus on enhancing rural roads and culverts.

Hon. Awe underscored the significance of this exercise, acknowledging the foundational role played by rural communities in the state’s prosperity. He emphasized that they unequivocally deserve rapid development.

The commissioner assured these communities that Governor Oyebanji is wholeheartedly dedicated to improving rural farmstead roads, thereby facilitating the easy transportation of agricultural produce to urban areas. This commitment has already become evident through various initiatives, including the electrification of towns that have endured decades without electricity, such as Ayekire, Gbonyin, Ekiti East, and Ikogosi.

During the visit, the royal fathers extolled the governor for his remarkable achievements within his first year in office, characterizing them as unprecedented. They expressed their gratituder for recent efforts to tackle challenges in various communities and pledged their unwavering support and blessings for the governor.

 

While inspecting a makeshift wooden bridge constructed by the community and attentively listening to some of their challenges, which encompassed market enhancements, repairs, and the construction of boreholes and toilets, Hon. Awe reaffirmed Governor Oyebanji’s administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting the development of these communities.

 

He explained that the visitation to the farmsteads is an ongoing endeavor that will continue into the new year. Hon. Awe assured that no community will be left behind, aligning with the governor’s mantra of “prosperity for all,” a vision that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is wholeheartedly committed to achieving.

 

The farmstead visited by the commissioner and his entourage, accompanied by the Baale of each farmstead, included Baale Ajebamidele, Okeseri, Alapoto, Owode, Adeboye, Sasere, and Baale Eporo.
