Ekiti State Assembly Applauds Dr. Olofinbiyi’s Academic Research team’s Contributions for Ekiti’s Development
The Ekiti State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Speaker Barrister Adeoye Aribasoye, has expressed admiration for the academic achievements of the Ekiti State University Research Team, led by Dr. Babatunde Olofinbiyi. Their exemplary research endeavors earned them the prestigious Best Manuscript Award for the period spanning five years, from 2018 to 2023. The award was conferred by the editorial board of Obafemi Awolowo University College of Health Sciences’ Nigerian Journal of Health Sciences during its Research Carnival Week.
This commendation was conveyed during a session of the State Assembly when Hon. Babatunde Oke, representing Ikere Constituency 1, brought to the House’s attention the honor bestowed upon Ekiti State.
Speaker Aribasoye hailed Dr. Babatunde Olofinbiyi as a shining, multi-talented star and an invaluable asset to the state. He recognized Dr. Olofinbiyi’s unwavering commitment to the state’s progress in various domains, extending beyond academia and health. The Speaker also lauded him for his extraordinary contributions, citing his specialized NGO dedicated to aiding disadvantaged adolescents.
Among numerous original articles rigorously assessed, scrutinized, and published in the journal, the research article authored by the Ekiti State University team titled “Randomized Controlled Trial on Early Versus Late Feeding after Caesarean Section at a Teaching Hospital in Southwest Nigeria” stood out as the best. Dr. Babatunde Olofinbiyi serves as a Reader/Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Minimal Access Surgeon at the Ekiti State University College of Medicine/Teaching Hospital. He is also the CEO of the emerging NGO, Adolescent Friendly Research Initiative and Care, focusing on making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents.
