In a recent visit to the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti State, Honorable Olufemi Aduloju, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Special Duties, reiterated the Governor’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Ekiti State residents, students, and educators alike. Aduloju emphasized that the Governor is resolute in advancing the healthcare sector and enhancing prestigious educational institutions across the state.

He assured the college’s faculty and students that their well-being is a top priority for the Governor, and significant improvements are on the horizon. Aduloju pledged to channel their concerns and requests to the Governor as part of his role as Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties.
While underscoring the need for the college’s commitment to professionalism, Aduloju acknowledged that government efforts require the cooperation and dedication of educators and students.

Dr. (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adebayo, the college’s Provost, lauded the Governor’s notable achievements in just one year in office, describing him as a leader with a keen ear for the needs of educational institutions.
At the forefront of the college’s requests is the transformation of the institution into a polytechnic, a move that would address infrastructure challenges and enhance staff efficiency. Dr. Adebayo explained that access to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) project has been instrumental in the growth of many institutions, and this status change would open doors for additional government funding.

Supporting Dr. Adebayo’s assertion, other college executives noted that institutions benefiting from TETFUND projects have experienced significant progress in terms of infrastructure and staff training and retraining. Converting the college’s status, they believe, will lead to increased revenue generation and the resolution of infrastructure issues.
Additional requests include an increase in the college’s subvention and the provision of a bus to alleviate mobility issues, particularly the escalating costs of fuel. The urgent need of an ambulance also surfaced during the meeting.
The college executives pledged their unwavering support for the Governor’s administration and their commitment to performing their duties with diligence and professionalism.
The meeting also involved discussions with the college’s Student Union Government (SUG), where security concerns for students residing off-campus and a request for an SUG bus to facilitate mobility were raised.

Present at the meetings were Deputy Provost Mr. Kayode Abolarin, Registrar Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, Bursar Dr. (Mrs.) Funmilayo Alonge, Librarian Mr. Folorunsho Olayinka, and Dean of Student Affairs Mr. Ayoola-Olasoji Iluku.
