Governor Oyebanji Celebrates Special School for Deaf, Ikoro Ekiti’s A1 Results

In a joyful celebration of academic success, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji took center stage at the valedictory ceremony of the Special School for the Deaf in Ikoro Ekiti on Thursday. The event brought together government officials, esteemed guests, and proud family members, all gathered to applaud the remarkable achievements of the school’s students.

The highlight of the ceremony was the outstanding academic performance of the outgoing students, especially their exceptional results in the National Examination Council (NECO) exams, where they achieved remarkable A1 grades, showcasing the incredible potential of students with special needs.

On behalf of the governor, the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Hon. Adetoun Agboola, congratulated the students and emphasized the significance of their achievements, demonstrating that regardless of their disabilities, they could achieve remarkable success. To further inspire and reward their efforts, Hon. Adetoun pledged financial incentives, saying, “For every A1 grade, a student will receive five thousand naira. Thus, a student with two A1 grades will be rewarded with ten thousand naira.”

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration remains firmly committed to the inclusion and empowerment of individuals with disabilities. Hon. Adetoun encouraged parents to continue nurturing their children and actively supporting their growth.

A heartwarming moments at the ceremony was the presentation of a cash prize to Abiodun ‘Dupe, who secured the first position in a dance competition at the 2023 Kidscon event held recently in the state.

The valedictory ceremony also featured engaging choreography, a captivating playlet, and a stunning cultural dance performance, adding to the celebration of the students’ exceptional accomplishments. The financial incentives, generously provided by the Special Adviser, onbehalf of the Governor Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji stands as a testament to the massive government investment in the special education sector.
