In a noteworthy event on Monday representatives from the Osun State Parastatal Monitoring Office, led by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusola Bolaji, paid a working visit to the Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH), Esa-Oke. The visit received a warm reception from the Chairman of the Governing Council of OSCOTECH, Hon. Prince Diran Odeyemi, and the college’s management team.

During the visit, Mr. Olusola Bolaji extended his congratulations to Hon. Prince Diran Odeyemi on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the Governing Council of OSCOTECH. He acknowledged the potential of Osun State’s youthful population, highlighting the positive impact they could have on the state’s development with the right guidance. The purpose of their visit was to foster collaboration and report the progress made by the institution to the government. Mr. Bolaji commended OSCOTECH for its achievements in academic innovation and urged the youth to focus on job re-skilling, reducing their dependency on government white-collar jobs.

He praised the visionary leadership of the Chairman and the Rector, Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke, which has fostered peace and progress within the college.

Dr. Adegoke, in his response, emphasized that the college’s courses are designed to empower students for self-reliance rather than traditional white-collar employment. The college is well-equipped for short courses and re-training programs for state and local government staff in fields such as town planning and surveying. However, the Rector noted that the institution faces challenges, including insufficient funding and staff shortages.
