Ekiti Ex-Officials:We are ready to join APC.

...as group extols Gov. Oyebanji's Unbiased dedication to an all inclusive government.

In a resounding show of support, former Ekiti State officials, constituting the Association of former 16 secretaries and 64 supervisors who served between 2017 and 2018, have expressed their wholehearted endorsement of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration. They commend the governor’s steadfast dedication to the well-being of the people of Ekiti and his commitment to fostering an all-inclusive government.

The group, led by Mr. Olukunle Owolabi and joined by some members of the party, made their declaration on Thursday  during a visit to the office of the Political Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor, Chief Jide Awe. Their announcement signifies a vote of confidence in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s leadership, characterized by good governance and a sincere concern for the welfare of Ekiti citizens, free from political or ethnic bias.

While expressing their readiness to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the state and national levels, the group conveyed their unwavering support for Governor Oyebanji’s administration, which they believe has been marked by fairness and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the state’s residents.

 

However, alongside their endorsement, the group also made an earnest appeal to the governor for assistance in resolving their outstanding unpaid allowances and emoluments. These financial dues have remained pending since their tenure under former Governor Ayodele Fayose from 2017 to 2018.

During the meeting, Chief Jide Awe praised Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his reputation as a leader dedicated to ensuring that laborers are duly compensated for their efforts. He assured the group that their requests would be conveyed to the governor and resolved in due course.

Earlier in the discussion, Mr. Olukunle Owolabi ,the leader of the delegation, commended Governor Oyebanji for various demonstrations of genuine concern for the welfare of Ekiti residents. These include the timely payment of pensioners’ gratuity, care for children at special schools, and the improvement of teachers’ welfare, among other initiatives. He particularly noted the unprecedented and commendable appointment of individuals from other political parties into his government.

Mr. Owolabi elucidated the predicaments faced by his fellow members due to unpaid allowances, including health challenges and the inability to provide education for their children, both within the country and abroad. On behalf of the group, he pledged unwavering support for Governor Oyebanji’s administration and earnestly sought a swift response to their appeal.
