In a significant development for healthcare in Ekiti State, the pastor in-charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Region 25, Pastor Tunde Abdullahi, has officially inaugurated an eighteen-member Regional Medical Team Executive. This dedicated team is tasked with coordinating all health and medical services across the provinces of the region, with Dr. Olofinbiyi Babatunde taking the helm as Director of Health and Medical Services.
Dr. Olofinbiyi Babatunde, a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Minimal Access Surgeon at Ekiti State University College of Medicine, has been chosen to lead this vital initiative. He is supported by Dr. Afolayan Tayo, a Consultant Family Physician with the Ekiti State Hospitals’ Management Board, who serves as the Deputy Director of Health and Medical Services. Dr. Olofinbiyi Babatunde also holds the position of Parish Pastor in RCCG, Ekiti Province 5.
During the inauguration ceremony, Pastor Tunde Abdullahi and his wife charged the newly appointed medical team executive with the crucial task of developing life-saving initiatives and strategic plans aimed at enhancing healthcare quality in Ekiti State, particularly for pregnant women, infants, and children.
As part of the program, the team visited a maternity center under construction in the region. Dr. Olofinbiyi Babatunde commended Pastor Tunde Abdullahi and his wife for their exceptional commitment to the health and well-being of pregnant women and children. He applauded their dedication to translating their vision into concrete action and assured the region that the newly established medical team executive would work tirelessly to ensure that the maternity center becomes an invaluable addition to Ekiti State’s maternal and child health infrastructure.
