In a heartfelt endeavor to support disadvantaged children, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the wife of Ekiti State’s governor, has distributed school supplies to more than 350 underprivileged pupils as part of the ‘Widows and Orphans Hope Back to School Program.’
Dr. Oyebanji, speaking from her office, emphasized her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate in society. This initiative for pupils is just one facet of her broader mission to assist widows, orphans, and elderly individuals throughout the state.
Distinguished guests at the event, including Oke Emmanuel, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers; the Commissioner for Education, represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Folqkemi Olomojobi; Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Bolaji Olagbaju Egbeyemi; and Commissioner of Women Affairs, Peju Babafemi, among others, praised the governor’s wife for her benevolent gesture, acknowledging its positive impact on the pupils’ educational journeys.
Several of the beneficiary pupils expressed their gratitude to Dr. Oyebanji for her generous support. Notably, over 400 indigent pupils were selected from all 16 local government areas of the state as recipients of this compassionate initiative.
