In a determined Effort to safeguard communities in Ekiti State from the devastating effects of flooding, Governor Oyebanji has initiated an ambitious dredging project.
Speaking with jiroltv in Ado Ekiti,Senior Special Assistant on Community communications Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso explained that the crucial undertaking aims to alleviate the flood risk faced by various vulnerable areas, with particular attention to Tinuola Parkview-Housing Estate river course, located on the opposite bank of Elemi river.
Remarkably, this significant dredging operation has been in progress for two weeks, marking a proactive approach to flood management in the state.

The images captured on Thursday revealed the impressive progress made in clearing and deepening the Tinuola/Housing river course.
Mrs.Oso-Omotosho said Governor Oyebanji’s swift action and strategic flood management measures, implemented well in advance of the rainy season, have played a pivotal role in mitigating the impact of floods thus far in Ekiti State.
The SSA Community Communications stressed that Governor Oyebanji’s comprehensive flood management strategy goes beyond dredging. It encompasses various initiatives designed to protect communities and minimize flood-related challenges.
She said the positive outcomes observed today are a testament to the effectiveness of his approach. However, it is imperative for the citizens to align their efforts with the governor’s proactive stance by adopting responsible environmental practices.
