BREAKING NEWS: Ekiti East And Aiyekire/Gbonyin Rejoice as Electricity Returns After Prolonged Blackouts. 

In a long-awaited turn of events, the residents of Ekiti East and Aiyekire/Gbonyin are poised to embrace the return of electricity, marking an end to years of darkness in the regions.

The people’s jubilation is palpable as Governor Oyebanji makes good on his promise to restore power to these areas. This breakthrough comes as a result of Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to fulfilling the pressing needs of his constituents.

During his rigorous election campaign, Governor Oyebanji pledged his support for the restoration of electricity to the Local Government. In a poignant visit to Olomuo’s palace, the Governor engaged with the Kabiesi and the community, acknowledging their fervent desire for reliable power supply. With unwavering determination, he vowed that within the first year of his tenure, he would transform this promise into a reality.

 

Today, that vision is fulfilled. Electrical infrastructure has been meticulously designed, constructed, and deployed to illuminate the region. With the energization of essential transformers, the region is now poised to bask in the brilliance of power once more.

Governor Oyebanji’s recent interaction with Ekiti people in Omuo Ekiti revealed the forthcoming accomplishment. He disclosed that the last stage of this transformative journey would be to orchestrate a constructive dialogue between community representatives, traditional leaders, and BEDC officials. This dialogue aims to establish effective metering and billing protocols, thereby preempting any potential misunderstandings as the region celebrates its reconnection to the national grid.

The meeting marked a crucial step forward as community leaders, officials, and stakeholders convened under the stewardship of Prof. Bolaji Aluko, commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities . The discussion was graced by the presence of prominent figures including Engr Olumide Ajayi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Infrastructure & Public Utilities; Engr.Ekundayo Atere, Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Electricity Board; Mrs Moyo Akin Afuye, Regional Manager of BEDC; and the revered Kabiesis of the affected communities.

The resounding sentiment echoed throughout the gathering was a heartfelt “THANK YOU, BAO.”
