Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has tconvened the inaugural meeting of the expanded state executive council and conducted the oath-taking procedure for newly inaugurated members at the state’s executive chamber.

He charged members to exhibit professionalism and compassion in their roles.

Governor Oyebanji explained that the executive chamber holds the highest decision-making authority, influencing policies that impact the welfare of Ekiti residents.

He encouraged members to actively engage, constructively challenging any motion before arriving at a unanimous stance.

Furthermore, Governor Oyebanji stressed the confidentiality of resolutions within the executive council (exco), emphasizing that classified matters should remain secret and not be leaked to the public.

He warned that anyone found guilty of leaking such information would face appropriate consequences.w

In emphasizing the people’s primacy, the governor underscored the importance of not permitting personal interests or groups to diverge from the conduct that guides their respective offices.

Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji similarly emphasized that members of the executive should remain connected to their constituencies, as these are the entities that nominated them.

He asserted his willingness to take action against any member whose party leaders or members of their constituencies raise complaints.

Highlighting a prevalent issue, he noted that government appointees sometimes detach themselves from their constituencies, surpassing party and public interests.

He warned against such behavior and pledged that his administration would not tolerate it.

As the highest official in the state, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji assured executive members that the government would fulfill its responsibility to create a conducive work environment and ensure their welfare.

He requested patience from those whose offices are currently under reconstruction.

He called upon members to be guided by their faith, acting justly and responsibly in the interest of the people.

He reminded them of their ultimate accountability before God for their stewardship.

Governor Oyebanji concluded by cautioning against any form of indiscipline, while promising a compassionate, fair, and respectful approach to all members.
