Ondo South Senator, Senator Dayo Faduyile,(Prof.), OON,in a press release on Friday expressed deep sympathy for the affected residents, describing the situation as unfortunate and disheartening.

The Senator assured victims that they would not be left to suffer alone, promising an on-the-spot assessment visit to affected communities in due course.

Senator Faduyile also called on the Ondo State Government and the State Emergency Management Authority to intensify their intervention efforts, emphasizing that the flooding has become a recurring challenge during rainy seasons.
He however urged residents to play their part by keeping drainage systems clear and avoiding construction on water channels.
Heavy downpours over the past few days have thrown Okitipupa and its environs into a state of emergency as rampaging floodwaters wreak havoc on homes and property, leaving residents in distress.
The flooding, which has shown no sign of abating, has caused massive damage to valuables and personal effects, with several households counting their losses.
