As Muslim faithful across Ekiti State joined their counterparts worldwide to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji has come in for high praise, with a prominent political figure- Engineer Olaoluwa Dawodu highlighting the Governor’s unwavering commitment to religious tolerance and inclusive governance. The recognition comes on the heels of a landmark achievement where no fewer than 50 Muslims have been appointed into strategic positions within the state government, a development being hailed as a new chapter of fairness and equity in the state’s political history.

Engineer Olaoluwa Dawodu, a frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, extended warm felicitations to the Muslim community, commending their resilience and devotion throughout the holy month of Ramadan. In his goodwill message, he noted that Governor Oyebanji’s administration has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to fairness, ensuring that all religious groups are given a genuine sense of belonging. He specifically pointed to the unprecedented appointment of over 50 Muslim faithful into key roles, describing it as a deliberate and historic effort to bridge past gaps of religious marginalization and foster a stronger sense of unity and trust among all citizens.
Dawodu emphasized that such deliberate inclusion has significantly altered previous narratives in the state, reinforcing the social fabric and proving that governance under Oyebanji prioritizes competence and inclusivity above sectional interests. He stressed that the synergy between the government and faith-based communities has created a conducive environment for development, enabling the administration to deliver on its people-oriented agenda. He called on the Muslim Ummah to sustain their prayers and support for the state government, noting that their collective goodwill has been instrumental in driving progress across key sectors of the economy.
The aspirant also urged the Muslim community to reciprocate this inclusive governance style by turning out en masse to support the administration in the upcoming June 2026 governorship election, which he described as a critical moment for consolidating the gains of the past few years. Beyond the state level, Dawodu solicited continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that ongoing federal reforms, while challenging, are designed to reposition the nation for long-term stability and prosperity for all Nigerians.
Concluding his message, Dawodu charged Muslims to carry forward the enduring lessons of Ramadan—discipline, compassion, and moral purification—beyond the fasting period. He prayed that the blessings of the holy month would translate into renewed hope, unity, and progress for families, communities, and the entire state, while reaffirming his own commitment to effective, people-oriented representation that amplifies the voices of his constituents at the national level.
