Determined in move towards local energy autonomy, the Ekiti State Electricity Regulatory Bureau (EKSERB) has issued licenses to 14 electricity vendors across the state. This step follows Ekiti State’s recent acquisition of regulatory control from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), marking a significant stride in decentralizing Nigeria’s power sector.

With this transition, the Ekiti State Electricity Regulatory Bureau now holds authority over local electricity tariffs, enabling the Ekiti State Government to implement consumer protection policies tailored to local needs.
