Ekiti Governor’s “OJUSE BAO” Initiative Leaves Beneficiaries Beaming With Gratitude

Twenty-Six beneficiaries, including individuals living with disabilities have benefited from Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s support and empowerment initiative named “OJUSE BAO.”

SOME OF THE BENEFICIARIES DURING THE EVENT

The beneficiaries, consisting of 14 medical aid recipients and 12 tuition beneficiaries who collectively received overt 6 million naira, gathered at the conference hall of the governor’s office in Ado Ekiti and poured encomium on Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

During the event, the beneficiaries were presented with cheques to cover their medical and educational expenses. Additionally, two individuals were gifted brand new wheelchairs for improved mobility.

The occasion not only highlighted Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities but also emphasized his dedication to enhancing education in Ekiti State, ensuring inclusivity and opportunity for all.

A PHYSICALLY IMPAIRED BENEFICIARY APPRECIATING THE GOVERNOR FOR THE GESTURE

Among the emotional stories shared was that of Mrs. Feyisayo Oladele, a physically impaired woman who received a wheelchair and assistance to start a Point Of Sale (POS) business, empowering her to become self-reliant. Another beneficiary, a visually impaired man, expressed gratitude for the assistance with his eye surgery bill, expressing hope for a brighter future.

In an interview, Mrs. Sola Abe, Senior Special Assistant, Governor’s office, reiterated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s personal commitment to improving the lives of Ekiti residents through initiatives like “OJUSE BAO,” which is funded from his personal resources.

ANOTHER WHEELCHAIR BENEFICIARIES REPRESENTED BY A RELATIVE DURING THE EVENT

She emphasized that beneficiaries were selected based on genuine needs expressed in their letters to the governor, without any political considerations.

The program’s second edition this year, following its one-year anniversary in March, continues to embody Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s vision of inclusive and impactful governance.

Officials, including Director General Community Communications Mrs. Mary Oso Omotoso and Special Adviser Tartiary Education Dr. Akeem Azeez, congratulated the beneficiaries and encouraged them to utilize the support effectively while also extending kindness to others, in line with the program’s ethos of “Ojuse Bao… AJOSE WA ni.”

This initiative serves as a testament to the governor’s unwavering dedication to uplifting the lives of Ekiti residents, particularly those living with disabilities, through targeted and meaningful support.
