Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has reassured the residents of the state following the distressing incident of the kidnapping of school pupils and teachers in Emure-Ekiti. Governor Oyebanji urged citizens not to lose hope, emphasizing that concerted efforts are underway to secure the safe return of the abducted children and their teachers.
The harrowing incident unfolded when six pupils from a private school in Emure-Ekiti, along with three teachers and the bus driver, were forcibly taken while en route to Eporo-Ekiti on Monday evening.
Governor Oyebanji condemned the reprehensible act, denouncing it as both heartless and intolerable. He pledged that no stone would be left unturned in the quest to rescue the victims from captivity.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, it was revealed that security agencies in the state have initiated a comprehensive search operation to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
Governor Oyebanji reiterated the government’s commitment to boost security measures across the state to root out criminal elements. He called upon the populace to maintain calmness and remain vigilant while soliciting their cooperation with security agencies by promptly sharing any pertinent information that could aid in the rescue efforts.
