
Seasoned grassroots expert, Engineer Olabode Adetunji, the Technical Advisor for Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation in Ekiti State, has praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for authorizing a major financial disbursement to former local government officials.

The approval, for a hefty sum of Four Hundred and Fifty-Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Three Thousand, and Ninety-Six Naira (N458,793,096), covers severance allowances for political office holders who served across Ekiti’s 16 Local Governments between 2022 and 2023.
The veteran local government administrator, renowned for his deep institutional knowledge, labeled the governor’s action a “masterstroke in public service motivation.”

“This timely release of the largesse by His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, is a commendable and strategic move,” stated Engr. Adetunji. “It fulfills a rightful obligation and will further motivate serving LG workers and executives, reinforcing trust in the system.”
Adetunji, pointing to the governor’s broader transformation agenda for the third tier of government, urged continued public support for the administration. He also charged citizens to ensure their voter’s cards are ready for future civic participation.
The beneficiary list, as confirmed in a statement by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Folorunso Olabode, includes former Vice-Chairmen, Secretaries, Councillors, Supervisors, and Advisers.
This payout,he posited emphasizes Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to clearing inherited liabilities and strengthening the foundation of grassroots governance in the state.
