... Warns Against Panic,Spread of Unverified Alarms as Police Fortify State

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State Chapter, has moved to douse tensions sparked by a widely circulated, AI-generated video falsely alleging an imminent attack on two prominent state universities.
The Council, under the leadership of its State Chairman, Amb. Segun Bankole, has authoritatively attributed the viral clip to malicious fabricators whose sole intent is to sow fear and disrupt the prevailing peace within the state.

Ambassador Bankole, in a public appeal, urged the youths and all residents of Ekiti State to maintain their composure and remain focused, emphatically stating that the Ekiti State Police Command has thoroughly investigated and confirmed the video as a hoax.

He further counselled the public to refrain from the reckless circulation of unverified information, which he noted is capable of creating unnecessary tension and anxiety across communities and academic campuses.

The NYCN Chairman firmly aligned the youth body with the robust reassurances provided by the Ekiti State Government and security agencies, confirming that the state’s security architecture has been significantly strengthened. He revealed that adequate security personnel have been strategically deployed across the state, including border towns, educational institutions, public and private infrastructure, and worship centres, to guarantee the maximum safety of all citizens.

In line with the advice of the Council Chairman, all youths are called upon to demonstrate responsible citizenship by remaining vigilant and offering their full cooperation to security agencies. The public is also encouraged to promptly report any suspicious movement or persons to the nearest police station or through the dedicated security hotlines: 08062335577 and 09064050086.

The NYCN commended the Ekiti State Police Command for its swift and proactive response, while collectively affirming the commitment of Ekiti’s youth to support all efforts aimed at safeguarding the state from the corrosive effects of fear and misinformation, thereby upholding Ekiti’s proud legacy as a land of honour, peace, and collective progress.
