The BAO Agenda 2026 Group has dismissed the recent spurious allegations made against Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, by a governorship aspirant in the state Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke, describing them as a desperate assemblage of falsehoods designed for cheap political gain.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti by its State Coordinator, Hon. Moshood Lawal Bamayi, and co-signed by the Secretary-General, Hon. Olufemi Aduloju, and the Public Relations Media Officer, Ms.Yewande Aribasoye, the group stated that the claims are not only historically inaccurate but also a pathetic attempt to tarnish the impeccable reputation of a performing Governor.
The group firmly asserted that the historical record regarding Governor Oyebanji’s role as the authentic Secretary of the Movement for the Creation of Ekiti State is clear and unassailable.
This fact is a matter of public record and has been robustly validated by the most revered fathers of the state, whose endorsements matter most. His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, a paramount ruler present during the struggle, has consistently celebrated the Governor’s pivotal role.
Furthermore, the legal luminary and founder of ABUAD, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), a man of unimpeachable integrity, has publicly acknowledged and praised Governor Oyebanji’s contributions. The attempt to introduce an unverified narrative concerning an individual who has been absent from the state for decades is a convenient and cynical political tactic that holds no weight against the consistent testimonies of Ekiti’s esteemed leaders.
The statement further highlighted that while the aspirant is busy digging for decades-old non-issues, Governor Oyebanji is busy building a modern Ekiti, with his performance in office being the greatest rebuttal to any distraction.
The people of Ekiti are direct witnesses to unprecedented developmental initiatives, including the construction of the transformative Okeyinmi Flyover, the aggressive construction of linking roads across the state, the visionary Ekiti Agro Allied Cargo Airport, and the recent approval of the Ijan road, among countless other projects. This tangible record of delivery is why Ekiti KETE are united in their support for BAO, as he has proven himself worthy through service and not through empty rhetoric and mudslinging.
The BAO Agenda 2026 Group concluded that the attack is a clueless distraction tactic from a disgruntled individual who believes the number one seat can be attained by peddling cheap and unverified claims designed to heat up the polity.
They urged the good people of Ekiti to wholly disregard these baseless allegations, which are merely a tool for someone seeking to trend on social media at the expense of the state’s peace and the Governor’s esteemed reputation. Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji remains focused on his sacred mandate to deliver on his administration’s shared prosperity agenda for Ekiti State and will not be deterred by such desperate antics.
