
The BAO Agenda 2026 Group’s statewide ward tour witnessed an electrifying reception in Efon on Sunday, with political leaders and residents demonstrating overwhelming support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and his Deputy Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye’s re-election bid through both massive turnout and substantial financial contributions.
The tour, which has now covered 12 of Ekiti’s 16 local governments, transformed into a festival of democracy in Efon, featuring a miles-long convoy of vehicles, pulsating traditional music, and enthusiastic crowds chanting solidarity songs for the governor fondly called “BAO.”

The visit commenced at Ward 4 before progressing through all ten wards, with Efon’s political elite opening their wallets in a remarkable display of commitment. Leading the charge were the community’s revered “Three Musketeers”-Chief Folorunsho Alake,Chief Dele Jeje and Chief Olayinka BOS.
The trio collectively donated ₦50,000 across all ten wards. They were joined by other prominent figures:Chief Ronke Okunsanya (Nana-Represented)– ₦50,000 across wards,BAO Agenda 2026 Group– ₦25,000 across wards,Rt. Hon. Oladapo Karounwi (Commissioner for Regional and Urban Planning) – ₦20,000 across wards,Hon.Mrs. Peju Babafemi (Commissioner for Women Affairs) – ₦10,000 across wards.

Hon. Bosede Olowokere(Ekiti Assembly Chief Whip) – ₦20,000 across wards,Hon. Afolabi Segun (Efon Local Government Chairman) – ₦25,000 across wards,Engr. Bode Adetunji (Skido) (Technical Advisor, LG Project Monitoring) – ₦20,000 across wards,Prof. Adio Afolayan (Former Commissioner for Local Government) – ₦25,000 across wards Barr. Victor Kolade (VOK) – ₦50,000 across wards and Hon.Oni Atiba who donated #100,000 at ward 7.
Community leaders took turns to articulate their reasons for supporting Governor Oyebanji’s second term bid, describing him as a “detribalized leader” who has brought unprecedented development to the state.
Chief Folorunsho Alake, speaking for Efon leaders, emphasized that “Governor Oyebanji isn’t just giving us roads and schools. He’s giving us recognition. Look at how many of our sons and daughters he’s appointed into government. This is a leader who understands grassroots needs because he schooled among us.”
The leaders specifically highlighted massive investments in agricultural development,
Comprehensive upgrades to health facilities,Unprecedented attention to education sector,Extensive road rehabilitation projects and Successful rural electrification initiatives.
While praising the BAO Agenda 2026 Group for the ward tour initiative, some leaders proposed strategies to further strengthen the party’s base.
Barr. Victor Kolade (VOK), initiator of the “Iyan BAO” movement,suggested
“We need Special Assistants on Ward and Unit matters. This will ensure constant engagement and quick resolution of local issues before they escalate.”
Rt. Hon. Oladapo Karounwi charged political appointees to make ward engagements a regular affair rather than election-season formality:
“Our strength lies in constant connection with the grassroots. Let’s not wait until 2026 before we remember our people.
The visiting delegation, visibly moved by the outpouring of support, reiterated their commitment to ensuring Governor Oyebanji’s re-election. The team included: Hon. With Efon’s resounding endorsement, the BAO Agenda 2026 Group continues its tour across Ekiti Central, building momentum for what observers say may be one of the most one-sided gubernatorial contests in the state’s history.
