In a fiery rebuttal, the BAO Agenda 2026 Group, through its State Coordinator Hon. Moshood Lawal (Bamayi), Secretary General Hon. Olufemi Aduloju Oja I, and Public Relations Officer Ms. Yewande Aribasoye, has dismissed recent claims made by PDP chieftain Hon. Wole Akindele as baseless and misleading.
The group criticized Akindele’s assertionst that the APCe government, under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has inflicted economic hardships on Ekiti State. They described these claims as gross exaggerations and clear distortions of facts. According to the group, Ekiti has witnessed significant strides in infrastructure development, healthcare, and education under Oyebanji’s leadership, positively impacting the lives of its citizens.
Akindele’s attempt to downplay these achievements by attributing all visible development to past PDP administrations was labeled disingenuous and insulting to the current administration’s hard work. The ongoing construction of the overhead bridge from Okeyinmi to Ijigbo was highlighted as a testament to the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and easing traffic congestion, contrary to Akindele’s claims of misplaced priorities.
The group dismissed Akindele’s challenge to Governor Oyebanji to defend the state’s allocations as a mere political stunt. They emphasized the governor’s consistent demonstration of transparency and accountability in managing state resources, ensuring funds are judiciously utilized for the benefit of all Ekiti residents.
Governor Oyebanji’s administration has achieved remarkable milestones, including the completion of the Ekiti State Airport, which has been granted a six-month license to commence non-scheduled flight activities. This development is seen as a significant milestone in linking Ekiti’s economy to the rest of the world and expanding the state’s economic opportunities. Additionally, the administration has made substantial improvements in food production, infrastructure, and government services, contributing to the state’s accelerated growth.
The group dismissed the notion that the PDP will reclaim Ekiti in 2026 as a mere fantasy. They asserted that the people of Ekiti are well aware of the progress made under the APC government and will not be swayed by empty rhetoric and baseless accusations. The group called on Akindele and his cohorts to focus on constructive criticism and meaningful contributions rather than resorting to cheap political propaganda.
Governor Oyebanji’s administration remains committed to the development and prosperity of Ekiti State. The group affirmed that no amount of baseless criticism will deter the government from its mission to uplift the lives of its people. They concluded by stating that the APC’s track record speaks for itself, and the people of Ekiti will continue to support a government that delivers on its promises and works tirelessly for their well-being.
