The BAO AGENDA 2026 group has expressed profound commendation for the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for his unwavering support and endorsement of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second term bid. Dr. Fayemi’s endorsement, made during a year-end meeting with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Isan Ekiti country home, emphasizes his commitment to democratic principles and the continuity of good governance in Ekiti State.
Dr. Fayemi, while endorsing Governor Oyebanji, emphasized that his support does not preclude other aspirants from contesting for the party’s governorship ticket. “I am a democrat, so I cannot discourage anybody from contesting for the party’s ticket. Anybody who feels he is capable can contest for the party’s ticket,” he stated, highlighting the inclusive and democratic nature of the APC.
The BAO AGENDA 2026 group in a press release by its state coordinator Hon Moshood Lawal (Bamayi) jointly signed by the Secretary -General Hon.Olufemi Aduloju Oja I and the PRO Ms Yewande Aribasoye lauded Dr. Fayemi for his democratic disposition and for strengthening a political environment where all capable individuals can vie for leadership positions without prejudice.
This approach not only strengthens the party’s democratic values but also ensures that the best candidates emerge through a fair and transparent process.
Furthermore, the group commended Dr. Fayemi for instituting the continuity mantra in Ekiti State, which has been effectively carried forward by Governor Oyebanji. Under Oyebanji’s leadership, the state has witnessed significant progress and development, reflecting the vision and foundation laid by Dr. Fayemi.
