The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Bago, has vowed to collaborate closely with the newly inaugurated Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kontagora (FUEK).
This institution marks a significant addition to the federal presence in the state, and the governor described it as a “milestone” in advancing education and development in the region.
During a recent meeting held on Thursday with the Governing Council, led by Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman Prof. Dayo Faduyile OON, Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the fledgling university.
Prof. Faduyile emphasized the importance of a strong partnership with the state government, calling for essential support to help the institution establish itself and thrive.
In response, Governor Bago announced immediate plans to construct a three-kilometer road leading to the university. He praised the council’s proactive engagement and reiterated his administration’s dedication to strengthening the university’s growth.
“This university is a beacon of opportunity for our people, and we will ensure it has the infrastructure and support it needs to succeed,” the governor stated.
The Federal University of Education, Kontagora (FUEK) is expected to boost educational opportunities and economic activity in Niger State, with the state government and university leadership committed to working in tandem for its success.
