In a show of support, Hon. Babatunde Oke, representing Ikere Constituency 1, moved a motion urging the people of Ekiti to renew Oyebanji’s mandate beyond 2026, based on his “impressive, commendable, and laudable performance.” The motion was seconded by Hon. Babatunde Fawekun of Ido/Osi Constituency 1 and was unanimously approved through a voice vote, with the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, sealing the decision with the gavel. The Speaker urged fellow lawmakers to take the message of endorsement back to their constituencies.

Governor Oyebanji emphasized his administration’s strides in security, which included deploying additional troops, establishing the Agro Marshals Corps, and equipping fire stations in Ikere, Ijero, Ikole, and Omuo. These efforts, he noted, have strengthened public safety and facilitated investment inflows. He also highlighted ongoing projects and new security assets to bolster the state’s protective measures.

The governor spotlighted achievements in education, such as recruiting over 2,000 teachers, spending N14 billion on school renovations, and paying examination fees for 150,000 students. He further outlined economic initiatives, including N400 million in grants to support 922 MSMEs and the development of the Ekiti Mega Local Fabrics (Aso Oke) Production Centre.

Concluding his address, Oyebanji thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governor Kayode Fayemi for their support, while reiterating his commitment to bringing prosperity to Ekiti. He called on all branches of government to continue working together to achieve the state’s ambitious development goals.
