ADO 2025-2050 MASTER PLAN: COMMITTEE PUSHES FOR REDUCED JURISDICTION

... as Sub-Committee Prepares Final Proposal

In a continuation of deliberations on the Ado Ekiti Master Plan, the steering committee chaired by Engr. Dr. John Moyo Ekundayo, Special Adviser and Director General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery , has moved to refine the plan’s jurisdiction. The meeting, a follow-up to previous discussions, focused on key adjustments to the proposed blueprint for the city’s development.

EKITI STATE SPECIAL ADVISER STATE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY HON TADE ALUKO DURING THE MEETING

Hon. Tade Aluko, whose office as Special Adviser for the State Capital Development Authority is at the heart of the planning, initially proposed a 20-kilometer jurisdiction during an earlier presentation.

However, the committee resolved to scale this down to between 5 and 10 kilometers to establish a practical starting point. This adjustment sets the stage for a more comprehensive master plan to be presented for broader consideration.

The steering committee also emphasized the need for an executive-level individual, preferably a special adviser, to lead the Capital Development Authority, ensuring that the plan’s execution will not only be approved but actively implemented. Hon. Aluko was tasked with heading a sub-committee to finalize the resolutions within three weeks and present actionable solutions.

Earlier, Hon. Aluko outlined the sub-committee’s progress, including a review of state capital development territory bills from Lagos, Kaduna, and Enugu as models for Ado Ekiti. His presentation detailed the committee’s structure, funding sources—60% from the state, 20% from local governments, and 20% from internally generated revenue—and the authority to seek additional funding under the scrutiny of the main committee.

As the steering committee wraps up discussions, the sub-committee now has another three weeks to present its final proposal, aiming to deliver a master plan that aligns Ado Ekiti with national urban development standards for the period 2025 to 2050.

Present at the event are the special adviser/director general office of transformation and service delivery Engr. (Dr)John Moyo-Ekundayo, commissioner for information Rt. Hon.
