EKSG Disburses 100Million Naira as Medical Financial Assistance

The Ekiti State Government has disbursed the sum of One Hundred Million Naira to 105 beneficiaries of medical financial assistance initiated by the state government.

Distributing the cheques, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr Oyebanji Filani disclosed that the 105 beneficiaries received support from the government for treatment of various medical conditions.

Dr Filani hinted that the beneficiaries received support from the government on various kinds of medical conditions such as treatment of Kidney and cancer, appendectomies and cataract surgeries as well as fibroids removals.

The Commissioner said that the assistance covered those who are currently undergoing treatment or about to undergo treatment, persons with specific treatments that are available within the state or outside the state.

While appreciating Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for approving the disbursement and for always being on the side of the masses, Dr Filani urged the beneficiaries to remain optimistic and adhere to instructions from medical personnel to ensure good and quick recovery.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing quality, accessible and affordable healthcare services to all citizens of the state.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun said that the government is aware of the burden of ill health and lack of financial power by many citizens hence the medical financial assistance to ease the financial burden.

Mrs Gbenga-Igotun urged Ekiti residents to prioritize their health, do regular exercise and eat adequately to stay healthy.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Chief Babatunde Ayowale, Mrs Veronica Adebayo and Oni Olowoyeye expressed deep appreciation to the governor for making their health and well-being the priority of his administration.

They prayed for a successful tenure for the governor, his team and a Prosperous Ekiti State.
