In other to strengthen inclusive governance, Pastor Kunle Kolade, SSA to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Christian Religion Affairs, has extended gratitude to members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ekiti State for their steadfast support of the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
During a familiarization visit to the association in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, Pastor Kolade commended CAN exco under the leadership of Rev Dr Emmanuel Aribasoye that they have been a great blessing to the government of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Christian community in Ekiti State.
Highlighting the commitment of Governor Oyebanji and his spouse, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, Pastor Kolade stressed that Mr Governor is a man of peace who is passionate about the shared prosperity of the people, urging all to unite behind government initiatives.
“As children of God and active Christians, Governor Oyebanji and his wife exemplify unwavering devotion to upholding the name of God,” He remarked. Pastor Kolade, cited biblical references to explain the importance of support through prayer and action.
In his capacity as SSA, Pastor Kolade pledged to maintain robust communication channels between the State Government and the Christian community, ensuring that concerns and feedback are effectively relayed to Governor Oyebanji.
He also sought a few minutes during church services to inform congregations about government development strides and initiatives, acknowledging the challenge pastors face in discussing such matters to avoid political association.
Seeking closer collaboration, Pastor Kolade extended an open invitation to CAN leadership for regular meetings and consultations, stressing the importance of collective efforts in advancing the interests of both government and the Christian populace.
Pastor Kolade, expressed gratitude to the CAN family under the leadership of Rev. Emmanuel Aribasoye for their continuous support.
Responding on behalf of the association, CAN Chairman Rev. Dr Emmanuel Aribasoye hailed Governor Oyebanji as a leading Christian figure in the state, noting his inclusive governance style and genuine love for Ekiti people.
Rev. Dr Aribasoye highlighted the governor’s appointment of individuals with religious integrity to key positions and acknowledged government support, including unprecedented subvention. He appealed for further assistance, particularly in office equipment and the construction of a central hub (Economical center)for Christians in Ekiti State like other states, which the association has already embarked upon.
