Gov. Oyebanji spits fire over murdered Ekiti royal fathers on Monday

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has vehemently condemned the heinous attack that claimed the lives of two traditional rulers in Oke-Ako area of Ikole Local Government. Expressing his outrage, Governor Oyebanji has instructed security agencies in the state to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the tragic incident.

The victims, identified as the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, were ambushed and killed by armed assailants while returning from a meeting. The third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara –Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, narrowly escaped the attack.

 

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji assured that security operatives have been deployed to the area to apprehend the culprits. The Governor, who had just chaired a state security council meeting in Ado-Ekiti prior to the incident, emphasized that every effort would be made to ensure that justice is served.

Governor Oyebanji extended his heartfelt condolences to the communities of Imojo Ekiti and Esun Ekiti, urging residents to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands. He assured the affected communities that the government would oversee a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.

 

Furthermore, Governor Oyebanji charged security agencies in the state to maintain vigilance and intensify efforts to eradicate crime and criminal activities within Ekiti State. Emphasizing his administration’s unwavering commitment to the security of lives and properties, the Governor reiterated plans to leverage technology for crime prevention and provide necessary support to security agencies across the state.
