In a remarkable display of dedication to the welfare of its elderly citizens, the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for the well-being of elders across the state.

This resounding declaration came to light during a prestigious ceremony held in Ado-Ekiti, as the Ekiti Council of Elders bestowed the coveted title of “Ekiti Elders Hall of Fame” upon a distinguished group of individuals who have left an indelible mark on the community.

Governor Oyebanji, represented by the esteemed Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Peju Babafemi, lauded the Ekiti Council of Elders for their foresight in establishing the Hall of Fame. He hailed it as a noble legacy, one that would serve as a beacon of hard work, resilience, and altruism for generations to come.

The Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to the honorees, describing their achievements and contributions to development as transcending generations. He emphasized that these honorees represent paragons of leadership, inspiring others to pursue ambitions and lifestyles rooted in integrity and good character, values deeply cherished by Ekiti’s forefathers.

The ceremony also witnessed heartfelt accolades from the President of the Ekiti Council of Elders, Prof. Joseph Oluwasanmi, who congratulated the distinguished inductees. He celebrated them as embodiments of “Omoluabi” – individuals who have made invaluable and indelible contributions to humanity.

 

The Ekiti Council of Elders proudly inducted a select group of remarkable individuals into its Hall of Fame, including Late Lt. Col. Francis Adekunle Fajuyi, represented by his son, Aare Afe Babalola CON, Chief Deji Fasuan MON, Prof. Olufunke Egunjobi, and Prof. Wole Olanipekun, SAN.
